Someone who uses their time, talents, and resources to bless others as God directs.
What is a wise steward?
A covenant between God and His people.
What is the Sabbath a sign of?
He will always be with them. (see D&C 60–63)
What is the Lord’s promise to the faithful?
A willing heart and a willing mind.
What does the Lord require of us to receive blessings?
Because they bring us closer to Christ and guide us to eternal life.
Why are the scriptures worth more than riches?
To live the law of consecration and share their resources. (see D&C 51)
What is the reason the Saints need to be organized?
Worshipping, resting, and doing things that bring us closer to God.
How should we keep the Sabbath holy?
Because spiritual things should be treated with reverence.
Why were some warned not to speak lightly of sacred things?
We are commanded to forgive everyone.
What does D&C 64 teach about forgiveness?
As scripture when spoken by the power of the Holy Ghost. (D&C 68)
How did the Lord describe His words in D&C 68?
He asks us to use our agency to do good without waiting to be commanded. (See D&C 58:27)
What does the Lord mean when He says we should be “anxiously engaged in a good cause”?
Peace, protection, and the guidance of the Holy Ghost.
What blessings come from keeping the commandments?
He teaches, testifies, and brings things to our remembrance.
What is the role of the Holy Ghost in receiving revelation?
Because we can’t be forgiven if we don’t forgive others.
Why is forgiving others essential in the gospel?
They were to dedicate their work and receive support. (D&C 70)
What did D&C 70 say about stewards of Church publications?
Edward Partridge, the first bishop of the Church.
Who was called to organize the Saints in Missouri?
To help the Saints prepare spiritually and prosper in Zion. (See D&C 59)
Why did the Lord give commandments?
Some doubted the language or worried how they’d be received.
Why were early Saints hesitant to publish the revelations?
When we keep His commandments, we show we trust and love Him.
How does obedience show our love for God?
Studying them, applying them, and sharing them respectfully.
How can we treat the scriptures as sacred?
They will inherit eternal life and be trusted with greater responsibilities.
What is the promise for faithful stewards?
To renew our covenants and show gratitude to God.
What does it mean to offer our “sacraments” on the Sabbath?
They are true and will stand the test of the world. (see D&C 67)
What did the Lord say about His revelations?
Vengeance is His; we are not to seek it.
What did the Lord say about those who seek revenge?
We will be enlightened and guided by the Spirit.
