How many total minutes include dinosaurs in Jurassic Park?

15

The dinosaurs only appear in fifteen minutes of the film's one hundred and twenty-seven-minute runtime. Further, only around six minutes had the dinosaurs rendered with CGI, with the rest being animatronics. This mixture ensured that, when the dinosaurs did appear, they could move and act more dynamically than the shark from Jaws, which helped add tot heir realism.

Renowned paleontologists Jack Horner and Robert T. Baker consulted with production to ensure the dinosaurs both acted and appeared just as they would in the Late Cretaceous period. Baker was so impressed by the crew’s work he told Popular Mechanics in 2012 they were “better morphologists than most tenured professors,” quite the testament to production’s meticulous devotion to creating a hyper-realistic universe.

One of the film's early scenes show a cup of water rippling and vibrating as the indomitable Tyrannosaurus rex stomps closer and closer to the terrified park goers cowering in their respective Jeeps. Spielberg conceived the idea for the shot while jamming out to Earth, Wind, & Fire in his car and noticed the windows vibrating as the song’s bass swelled.

What famous person helped with post production?

George Lucas.

Spielberg and his crew completed filming on Jurassic Park on November 30, 1992—12 days ahead of schedule—but he had to quickly shift gears and concentrate on shooting and completing his next film, Schindler’s List, which would go into production in March 1993. Because of the tight shooting schedule on that film and the extensive post-production needed for Jurassic Park, he handed over some post-production responsibilities to friend and frequent collaborator, George Lucas, who owned ILM. Lucas was given a “special thanks” credit in the final film.
