How do you measure 4 gallons precisely with a 3 gallon and 5 gallon jug?

1. Fill up 3 gallon jug and pour into 5 gallon jug

2. Fill up 3 gallon jug again and pour into 5 gallon jug until 5 gallon jug is full. There should be 1 gallon remaining in 3 gallong jug.

3. Dump out 5 gallon jug and pour in the 1 gallon remaining in 3 gallon jug.

4. Fill up 3 gallon jug again and pour into 5 gallon jug that already has 1 gallon, resulting in precisely 4 gallons.
