What are the 3 main Blood Vessels

Arteries, Capillaries and Veins

100

What are the terms we use instead of breathing in & out.

Inspiration & Expiration

100

Name one Cardiovascular or Respiratory Disease

Any of Atherosclerosis, Cholesterol, Coronary Heart Disease, Hypertension, Stroke, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) & Asthma

100

Name one method to collect PA data:

Direct observation, video analysis, heart rate telemetry, GPS, Lactate Blood readings

100
What subschool am I aligned with?

Myamba

200

Name the missing part: The blood travels through the right ventricle to the ________________ to go off to the lungs to get oxygenated.

Pulmonary Artery

200

EPOC stands for:

Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption

200

Name one illegal method to enhance performance

Either: Erythropoietin (EPO), Blood Doping & Beta Blockers

200

Name one advantage and disadvantage of obtaining HR data.

Advantages:

Inexpensive, unobtrusive, accurate of playing intensities.

Disadvantages:

Waterproof models expensive, interference, delay in 'real-time' signals, must be close to receiver to obtain data (or need to download after).

200

What football team do I go for?

North Melbourne

300

What are the main 4 components of blood

Red Blood Cells, White Blood Cells, Platelets & Plasma

300

What's the equation for Ventilation?

Respiratory Rate (RR) x Tidal Volume (TV) = V

300

"think F.A.S.T" relates to which cardiorespiratory disease?

Stroke

300

Name one advantage and disadvantage of obtaining Direct Observation data.

Advantages:

Immediate changes can be made to playing style/setup, fatigue easily observed/counteracted, easy to administer, inexpensive.

Disadvantages:

Subjective, no way of showing how players performed, limited observers memory/dependant on memory, difficult to watch multiple players at the same time, experience of analysts, cannot be viewed by others/different coach for alternative feedback.

300

What's my sons name?

Harry
400

What is the term given to maintain homeostasis with body temperature

Thermoregulation

400

Explain what 'Steady State' means

When oxygen supply is equal to oxygen demand.

400

Which disease relates to "fatty deposits build up on the walls of the arteries that supply the heart"

Coronary Heart Disease

400

Name one advantage and disadvantage of obtaining Video Analysis data.

Advantages:

Data is readily downloadable, used on the computer, accessed any time, be manipulated/transmitted easily, paused/slowed down/replayed.

Disadvantages:

Expensive, often requires technical expertise.

400

What burger do I order at McDonalds?

Triple Cheeseburger

500

Who would have a lower resting HR, a trained athlete or a non-trained athlete? Explain why.

A trained athlete would as their heart would be strengthened, making it more efficient to pump more blood with each beat, thus requiring fewer beats per minute to maintain adequate blood flow.

500

Explain what is happening to oxygen in Gas Exchange

It is moving from a high concentration in your alveolus to a low concentration in your capillaries.

500

Explain what 'blood doping' is.

Artificially boosting the number of red blood cells in the body, via blood transfusions or injections.

500

Name one advantage and disadvantage of obtaining GPS data.

Advantages:

Combines movement patterns with intensities, easily determines fatigue/efforts.

Disadvantages:

Limited number on field available, no reference to other players/limited contextual information, some models can be uncomfortable.

500

How many Years have I taught at EMC
