I always thought it would be great to have an emerging leader program where we cross trained office different functions/specialties. I think gaining a better understand of each part of the BAYADA business could lend a hand in this.

It means interacting with your co-workers as if you were interacting with your family, close friends, religious organization members – anyone who hold great importance to you. These are the people you treat with kindness, love and respect. These are the people you care about, the people whose needs/thoughts/feelings you consider when making a decision or taking an action. Working this way creates an environment of caring and community amongst us all.

All hands on deck. When someone is in need of support there is no “that’s not my role” or “I don’t have time to bother with that” I always think about How would I feel if no one came to my side?

– I think we could do a couple of things. 1. Let’s pull together and do some charity work – give back to our community/company in a way that ties to The BAYADA Way. 2. We could spend more time together as a group – whether it is breakfasts, lunches, coffee chats, afterwork activities. Getting to know people on a more personal level strengthens relationships and provides a greater sense of community. The more we know about each other personally and professionally the more helping-hand opportunities we will discover.

From the small stuff to the big stuff, thinking about our desk-mates, thinking about what we share in common with members of other teams and coming together to support one project or cause, is what a sense of community at work looks like to me.
