What should your body look like when Ms. Gomez is teaching?
Chair turned, Eyes on Ms. Gomez, the person speaking or the board, voices off and following along.
What do you do when you first walk into the classroom?
Put your backpack on the hook, get everything out that you need for the day, grab your bin and start morning work!
What voice level do we use when the teacher is talking?
Voice level 0, unless we raise our hand.
How do we sit at the carpet?
Safely and Quietly (Criss Cross Applesauce or Mermaid)
How do we walk in the hallway?
Voice level 0, hands by side, walking feet, and in a straight line (if you see someone you know just wave don't jump out of line).
What should you do when someone else is talking?
Look at them and be respectful (your voice should be off).
What 3 ways does Ms. Gomez get your attention?
Fireworks, Class Class... Yes Yes, Doorbell Music

We listen to ALL staff and their directions.

Safely and quietly (walking, pushing in chairs, voices off).

Voice level 0, no talking, especially not in the office!
What should you do if someone near you is distracting you when learning?
Ask them to stop nicely, and if it doesn't work, talk to Ms. Gomez.

What should you do if you need help (even if Ms. Gomez's slug light is on)?
Talk to Ms. Gomez or another staff member.
What do you do when you are finished with your work?
Double Check and turn in, read a book till we move on.
When is it okay to use a voice level 4 at school?
Outside at recess!
Why is it important to sit and learn the right way?
So you grow to be an amazing second grader soon and it helps other students not get distracted.
How can we earn a star in the school, not just in our classroom, but in the school as a whole?
When we are walking in line, Ms. Gomez can give us one, and we can earn another if anyone in school says we have a nice and quiet line!
Why are classroom expectations important?
They keep us safe and growing as first graders.
What should you do if you need to go to the bathroom?
Check the whiteboard to see if there is a name already there, put your hand signal up, and wait for Ms. Gomez to say yes.
Why do we change our voice levels?
It helps Ms. Gomez and other students feel safe and comfortable doing their work in the classroom.
How do we treat our material cart?
Nicely, if something is not in it's place fix it and take care of the materials Ms. Gomez provides for everyone.
How do we show we are respectful and safe at school?
By being kind to everyone and respecting everyone's property (bulletin boards, walls, windows, etc.)
