Each rose petal symbolizes a chapter.

The rose’s beauty symbolizes the goodness, caring, sensitivity, love, and devotion that we share for the Sorority.

The long stemmed rose buds symbolize our National Executive Board. The rosebuds extend themselves from the rose. They enhance and protect the rose’s beauty.

Yet the rose is as fragile as we are. Therefore, we must love, protect, and care for each other. That is the point at which our love and emotions transcend our physical boundaries.

What is the "forgotten letter" of the Greek alphabet and why is it important to our National Sorority?

Digamma has been passed down from Sister to new member to serve as a symbolic reminder of our history. Like the letter Digamma, our history is sometimes forgotten. We sometimes forget the reason why our Sisterhood was founded. It is important to take time, now and then, to remember our humble beginnings and appreciate how far we have come thanks to the devotion of our Founding Sisters (and Brothers), and all those who have contributed to our goals since then. Digamma reminds us to look at our past and be proud of our heritage.

Homer could never have written the Iliad and the Odyssey without the letter Digamma. Homer’s works are considered epic – that is to say that they are narratives telling of the historical trials and tribulations, which were reasons for “creating and preserving. Kappa Delta Phi National Affiliated Sorority, Inc. is an epic of itself.
