Explain the significance of the New Member Pin.
The New Member Pin is oval in shape. The pin is divided equally from one tip to the other by a gold strand.
The black half of the pin signifies the mysteries of the Sorority not yet known by the New Members. The gold half of the pin signifies the preciousness of the Sorority not yet felt by the New Members.
Together with the oval shape, the pin signifies that all New Members work as one to be rewarded by this special preciousness and to understand and respect the secrets of our Sorority.

Explain the significance of the Chapter Flag and when it should be used.
The flag is rectangular in shape, consisting of three equally shaped panels. The center panel is gold and the other two are black.
The Greek letter “K” appears in black in the center of the middle panel. A golden rose appears in the left black panel near the bottom edge. The bottom right panel contains the Chapter's designation in gold lettering.
The flag is to be displayed at all special occasions of the Sorority and each chapter must possess a flag.

Describe The Key, what it signifies, and who it is presented to.
The Key is an old-fashioned scroll pierced by a quill which forms the end of the key. The Kappa Delta Phi National Affiliated Sorority, Inc. Crest appears on the scroll which is a shield with the name Kappa Delta Phi National Affiliated Sorority and the Yellow Rose centered in the Shield.
The key, signifying wisdom, is presented to all Kappa Roses by the National Sorority. In addition to being presented to Kappa Roses, local chapters, with the approval of the Board of Directors, may present The Key Award to chapter scholars.

Also assists the chapter in developing it's New Member Education Process to ensure that it meets all Risk Management and Hazing policies, and to ensure that it perpetuates the ideals, values, traditions, and goals on which this National Sorority was founded.
Explain the significance of the Kappa Rose.
Each rose petal symbolizes a chapter.
The rose’s beauty symbolizes the goodness, caring, sensitivity, love, and devotion that we share for the Sorority.
The long stemmed rose buds symbolize our National Executive Board. The rosebuds extend themselves from the rose. They enhance and protect the rose’s beauty.
Yet the rose is as fragile as we are. Therefore, we must love, protect, and care for each other. That is the point at which our love and emotions transcend our physical boundaries.

Describe and explain the significance of the Jeweled Badge including who is allowed to wear this badge. (HINT: It has the same meaning as the badge but with an added feature)
The Badge consists of an oval shaped panel of black enamel, which signifies the rituals of the Sorority, on which appears the Greek letter “K”, symbolizing Kindness. The letter “K” shall be in gold showing through the enamel surface, signifying the internal light we all receive from practicing this Kindness. The oval shape exemplifies all Sisters working as one.
The jeweled badges are of the same basic design as the badge, but are paneled with a bordered for pearls. The pearls exemplify scholastic success through graduation.
These badges may be worn only by Alumnae, Honorary Sisters, mothers, sisters, spouses or fiancés of the Sister. Undergraduates are not allowed to wear the jeweled badges.

Digamma has been passed down from Sister to new member to serve as a symbolic reminder of our history. Like the letter Digamma, our history is sometimes forgotten. We sometimes forget the reason why our Sisterhood was founded. It is important to take time, now and then, to remember our humble beginnings and appreciate how far we have come thanks to the devotion of our Founding Sisters (and Brothers), and all those who have contributed to our goals since then. Digamma reminds us to look at our past and be proud of our heritage.

Homer’s works are considered epic – that is to say that they are narratives telling of the historical trials and tribulations, which were reasons for “creating and preserving.
