When America went to war, Kappa Delta responded. During World War II Kappa Delta members sold war bonds and worked at USO facilities. They also presented the Red Cross with a car. In 1942 Kappa Delta council members decided there should be a name for all of the activities they sponsored. During the war years, chapters, alumnae associations and individuals donated thousands of articles such as pianos, sports equipment, records, puzzles, games and other items to boost troop morale.
