This capability ensures the county can plan for and respond to disasters by coordinating public health and medical response and activating trained personnel.
What is Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response?
KCPHD is now providing this public service. This service was previously provided by the Kittitas County Clerk's Office.

At KCPHD , foundational public health programs programs such as Youth Tobacco and Marijuana Prevention, Maternal and Child Health, Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention are all managed by this KCPHD division.

This program focuses on diseases in WA state that can be transmitted from animals and bugs to people.
What is the Zoonotic & Vector-borne Disease program?
This program aims to reduces illness and death by preventing infectious disease, overdose, etc. through evidence-based strategies focused on safety, prevention, and connecting people to care.
What is the harm reduction program?
This program connects eligible children to a local, specially trained dentist and is focused on early access to preventative dental care.
Children who have Apple Health (Medicaid) and who are under the age of 6 are eligible for this program, as well as children with a Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) indicator are eligible through age 12.
What is the Access to Baby and Child Dentistry (ABCD) Program?

What is Admissions Tax?
This program does not have dedicated funding aside from a special fund balance account at KCPHD.
The county is required by RCW 70.30.055 to budget an annual sum for this program each year, which can be used for current and/or future expenses.
What is Tuberculosis (TB)?
KCPHD is able to strategize and implement the most impactful ways to build trust and talk to the community as well as provide timely messaging to the public and the media through this program.
What is Communications (and PIO)?
This is KCPHD's newest program, administered by EH staff. This program provides technical assistance and education to businesses that are small quantity generators of dangerous waste in Kittitas County.
