This program aims to reduces illness and death by preventing infectious disease, overdose, etc. through evidence-based strategies focused on safety, prevention, and connecting people to care.
What is the harm reduction program?
This program connects eligible children to a local, specially trained dentist and is focused on early access to preventative dental care.
Children who have Apple Health (Medicaid) and who are under the age of 6 are eligible for this program, as well as children with a Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) indicator are eligible through age 12.

What is Admissions Tax?
This program does not have dedicated funding aside from a special fund balance account at KCPHD.
The county is required by RCW 70.30.055 to budget an annual sum for this program each year, which can be used for current and/or future expenses.

KCPHD is able to strategize and implement the most impactful ways to build trust and talk to the community as well as provide timely messaging to the public and the media through this program.
