order the following from greatest to least? Explain how you figured it out BEFORE seeing the answer 2/5, 9/14, 4/7
What is 9/14, 8/14, 2/5 I underlined the key words greatest and least. I saw that 2 is less than 1/2 of 5 so that fraction was teh least because the other fractions have numerators that are more than 1/2 of the denominator which makes them both greater than 1/2. I cross multiplied the remaining fractions, or I multiplied 4/7 times 2 to make it 8/14. The common denominator made it easy!
