OUR BYLAWS
Counting our general mother's meetings and our planning meeting, this is the total number of chapter-wide meetings we hold each year.
What is seven?
If you think the rules are being broken in a meeting, you raise one of these to call it to the chair's attention.
What is a point of order?
Our teen officers mirror the adult board, but their work is guided and supervised by these adults.
Who are the teen advisors?
The designation our chapter voted to pursue over the next two years.
What is Five Star?
A chapter must give a minimum of this fraction of its fundraiser proceeds to the Jack and Jill Foundation.
What is one-third (1/3)?
The President is automatically a member of every committee except these two.
What is the Nominating Committee and the Chapter Financial Evaluation Committee?
In a formal meeting, before a member may speak, she must first do this.
What is be recognized by the chair (obtain the floor)?
This appointed chair serves as liaison with the Regional Foundation Member-at-Large and co-chairs the Fundraising Committee.

What is our committees and to our chapter?
A chapter is required to maintain exactly this many bank accounts and no more.
What is two (2)?
A quorum for a chapter business meeting is this percentage of the voting membership AND it must include this many officers.
What is 30%, including three (3) officers?
Before the body can debate or vote on a proposal, someone must first do this, and another member must second it.
What is make a motion?
Under the Vice President's oversight, this committee plans our mother-connection experiences.
What is the Social Committee?
All chapter-wide and external communications, including meeting agendas, must get this before they go out.
What is the Chapter President's approval?
These two officers, and ONLY these two, must sign all chapter contracts — no substitutions allowed.
Who are the Chapter President and the Treasurer?
A chair or officer who neglects her duties first receives written notice from the Executive Board. If it continues, removing her from office ultimately requires this vote of the chapter.
What is a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the entire chapter membership?
A special meeting can only transact business that was included in this, so you can't spring a surprise vote on a topic that wasn't announced.
What is the call / the notice of the meeting?
This chair is responsible for tracking, storing, and accounting for all of the chapter's physical property and supplies.
The Inventory Chair (Committee)?
All reports are due at this point relative to each E-board meeting, so the minutes can show they were presented on time.
What is the Monday before each E-Board meeting?
The Budget-Finance Committee drafts the budget, presents it at the March general meeting, and the membership must adopt it no later than this point.
What is April 30th?
A full revision of the chapter bylaws is meant to be rare. It can happen no more often than this.
What is once every two (2) years?
When the chair makes a ruling you disagree with, you can do this, and then the body, not the chair, decides.
What is appeal the decision of the chair?
If neither the President nor the Vice President is present at a meeting, the bylaws name this officer to preside.
Who is the Program Director?
This year, each officer is asked to commit to attending the teens' retreat and connecting with their teen counterpart at least this many times per year.
What is twice (2x)?
The Budget-Finance Committee reviews requests for special funds not in the annual budget and normally recommends to the E-board, but it can go straight to the membership when this is an issue.
What is timeliness or requests or reimbursements is an issue?
