Explain how the furs got from North America to Europe.
Trappers, French or Native American, gathered the furs and traded them at the trading posts for goods they wanted or needed. From there, Voyageurs took the furs to New France and picked up trade goods to bring back to the trading posts. The furs were then shipped back to France on trading company ships where they were sold at high prices.

The British began to trade with French allies. The British began to build trading posts on land the French considered their own territory and British settlers began to move onto the land. War broke out in 1754, with the French winning most early battles. Later, the British began to gain victories, and outnumbered the French. The British win the war and gain control of the fur trade and all the former French territories including where Indiana is today.
