What is a fjord? Name a country or region where you might find one.

A fjord is a steep U-shaped valley that connects to the sea and filled with seawater after the glaciers melted.

Fjords are found in northern countries that were covered in glaciers during the last Ice Age. For example: Norway, Alaska, Scotland, Iceland.

What are uplands? Name an example.

Uplands are hills or very low mountains that may also contain mesas or low plateaus. 

Examples of uplands include the Kjolen mountains of Scandinavia, the Scottish highlands, the low mountain areas of Brittany in France, the central plateau of Spain (called the Meseta), the Central Uplands of Germany, and the Massif Central in France.
