If it is full, you should register for an alternative Kaylena suggested and then:
1. check XE registration regularly (they some times open more seats without telling anyone)
2. set up Open Seat notifications so you are notified if another student drops the class before the end of the add/drop

3. select prepare for registration (typically available about week 8 of the current term)

Why is 15 the recommended number of hours, if I just need 12 for FAFSA?
120 total credits/8 semesters (read: 4 years) = 15 credits per term.
tl;dr 15 per terms means a 4 year graduation
note that this does not take into account graduating early, AP/IB/dual enrollment credits, or summer school which is optional.
How can a student transfer out of LAS to another UIC college like nursing, business, or engineering?
It's not guaranteed, but you would want to know their ICT requirements are and then chat with Kaylena about a backup plan in LAS
