What is the difference between DACA and the Dream Act?
The DREAM Act (acronym for Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors) and DACA (acronym for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival) are both designed to let people illegally residing in the United States to get their work authorizations, Social Security number, and driver’s license HOWEVER, but DACA is an executive order signed by Obama on 2012 and the DREAM ACT has not been able to be passed through congress or made into an executive order. States have their own versions of the DREAM ACT and if the DREAM ACT is passed executively then a green card could be obtained. DACA only allows legal presence not a legal status.
