Describe the conflict between Henry II and Thomas Becket.

Henry wanted to promote Becket (his friend/advisor) to archbishop. Becket did not want this job since he knew it would have conflicts with the king. Sure enough, once he had the job he had to make choices that put the Church/God before the King, and this upset Henry. Later on, in his anger Henry made a mean comment that possibly caused Becket's death.
