Name That Country
This country shares a border with the United States and is home to the Sierra Madre Mountains
Mexico
This hot, rainy region covers much of Brazil and is home to millions of plant and animal species
Amazon Rainforest
Brazilians and Cubans have this in common: most of them live in cities located here
Near the ocean (coast)
Emissions from these two things are the main cause of Mexico City's dirty air
Cars and factories
Large parts of the Amazon are cleared to make room for raising these animals
Cattle (cattle ranching)
This island country sits in the Caribbean Sea, just south of Florida
Cuba
The longest mountain range in the world, running along the west side of South America
Andes Mountains

Specialization
Name two effects of Mexico City's air pollution
Health problems and smog
When the Amazon is cut down, these lose their homes and can become endangered or extinct
Plants and animals
The largest country in South America, covering most of the Amazon Rainforest
Brazil
Mountain ranges that run along the eastern and western sides of Mexico
Sierra Madre Mountains
Your morning cup of coffee most likely came from this South American country, the top grower in the world

Cutting down the Amazon adds to this worldwide problem where Earth's temperatures rise over time
Climate change
This country in northern South America touches both the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean
Colombia
This waterway flows east across Brazil and empties into the Atlantic
Amazon River
Cuba's arable land gives a big boost to people who work in this industry
Farming (agriculture)
Which of these does NOT help Mexico City's air pollution: replacing old cars, using natural gas, conservation programs to replant, or relocating factories?
Conservation programs to replant (that's a solution for Amazon deforestation)
The Amazon is often called "the lungs of the Earth." Explain why.
It produces 20% of the world's oxygen
