Who is the head of the Church on Earth?
The Pope
These are men who take Religious vows, but never become a Priest.
Brothers
These are people who present the word of God to us at Mass.
Lectors
Female Religious orders are called this. _____Sylvia is one!
Sisters
This person works with the young people or youth of a Parish. He or She plans activities to youth.
Youth Minister
These men are the only group that can one day be picked to be the next Pope.
Cardinals
These men assist the Priest, but they are not Priests. They can be married or single. They can marry people or perform a Baptism.
Deacons
These are people who give out Communion (The Eucharist) at Mass.
Eucharistic Ministers
These people teach Religion at their Parish to children who do not go to a Catholic School.
Catechists
These men celebrate Mass with the people in their Parish. (Example: Father Carlos is one.)
Priests
This is the head Priest assigned to lead a certain Parish.
Pastor
They lead the Church in singing during Mass.
The Choir.
These Directors pick out the books for the Religious Education program in the Parish.
Director of Religious Education
These men are in charge of an Archdiocese. One priest, Rev. Jeffrey Grob, is being Installed the 12th one of these on Tuesday!
Archbishop
This is the assistant to the Pastor of a Parish.
Associate Pastors
This Council helps with the overall operation of a Parish.
Parish Council
He oversees a Diocese as the Chief Priest. (He is not as high in ranking as the Archbishop...but he is close!)
Bishops
This French name is a name given to a Priest who has done something extraordinary in the Church.
Monsignor
This Minister helps support people who might be troubled, need advice, or emotional support.
