What do you do in the event of a kitchen fire?


In the event of a kitchen fire:

  1. Stay calm and act quickly.

  2. Shut off the equipment involved in the fire if it’s safe to do so.

  3. Use the appropriate fire extinguisher:

    • Grease or oil fire: Use the K-Class extinguisher (never use water).

    • Electrical fire: Use the C-Class extinguisher.

  4. If the fire cannot be controlled immediately,

    • Pull the fire alarm or alert everyone in the store.

    • Evacuate associates and guests safely through the nearest exit.

    • Call 911 and report the fire.

  5. Do not re-enter until the fire department says it’s safe.

  6. Report the incident to your manager and support team right away.

Organize What is the proper way to inspect Zone 1 and Zone 2? 

Inspect top to bottom left to right, look for food particles and items properly stored.  

Work Zone 1 is (prep sink)(3 Compartment Dish Sink) 

Zone 1 look for Pans for grease, date dots, food particles, dish rack/drain board are clean. Setup is HOT HOT COLD and the floor is dry with no pans/containers.
