What is intrapersonal conflict?
This model of healthcare is respectful and responsive to individual patient preferences, needs and values, and ensures the patient goals are guiding all clinical decisions
What is person-centered care?
The legal process by which a patient gives written permission for a procedure or treatment to be performed
What is informed consent?
They should be the source of control and full partners during decision making and problem-solving
Who is the patient?
A document that expresses patient wishes regarding medical treatment in the event they become incapacitated and are facing end of life issues. It speaks to their desire for use of or abstaining from use of things like CPR, mechanical ventilation, and/or artificial nutrition.
What is a living will?
A stage of conflict – Those involved start to feel an emotional response to the conflict. A behavioral response to a conflict follows the conceptualization. As actions are taken to resolve the conflict, the way that some or all parties conceptualize the conflict may change.

A stage of conflict - Conflict arises when different interpretations of a situation occur, including a different emphasis on what is important and what is not and different thoughts about what should occur next. Regardless of its accuracy, conceptualization forms the basis for everyone’s reactions to the frustration.
What is Perceived conflict?
This role may be completed by several different disciplines within health care like a RN or social worker but it often requires specialized training or a certification.

What is critical thinking?
A conversation that occurs petween a patient and those they listed to speak on their behalf on their advance directive that helps clarify the wishes of the patient.
What is an advance care planning conversation?
An approach used with conflict resolution that uses a blend of both assertive and cooperative behaviors, although it calls for less finely honed skills for each behavior than does collaborating

A nurse that makes rude, intimidating, and insulting comments to their peers
What is a nurse displaying incivility?
These influence how a situation is perceived and include variables such as the decision-makers physical/emotional state, personal bias, values, experiences, and attitudes
What are internal factors that impact decision-making?
This law or "Act" requires that all patients be asked if they have advance directives when being admitted to the hospital

What is conflict resolution?
A tool used in healthcare that measures patient satisfaction with their providers and the care they received. Its often measured in "star ratings" and helps us identify if they felt engaged in their care or if we put them at the center of their care.
