Setting is the where and when of a story. It is important to the story because it helps the reader understand where everything is happening. It would be confusing if the reader did not know where and when things are happening.

A prefix is a group of words before the base word. A suffix is a group of words after the base word. Dis is the prefix, respect is the base word, and the suffix is ful.

First person POV is a person or narrator telling their own story. They are a character in the story. They use "I", "my", "me", "us", "our", "we". Third person POV is written by a person who was not there. The narrator is not someone in the story. Uses "he", "she", "they", "them", "his", "her", "him". *Do not include dialogue.

A main idea is what the story is mostly about. A summary retells the main points of a text. In a nonfiction text, the summary states the main idea and important key details for informational texts. For fiction texts, it includes important details from the beginning, middle, and end of the story.
