They provide funding for therapy and counselling. The maximum funding available to each applicant is established by the RHPA and is equivalent to the amount that OHIP would pay for 200 half-hour sessions of individual out-patient psychotherapy with a psychiatrist (accessible over a 5 year period)

Use their professional judgement to determine if the client can understand the potential benefits and risks of the treatment as explained, and whether the client’s perception of pain or pressure levels, or indeed of what occurred during the treatment itself, could be impacted. If impaired, the RMT should not assess or treat the client.
