Barnabas gave Mark a second chance. Barnabas's faith in God allowed him to see past the faults of men. He chose to encourage and continue working with Mark to serve God.

Mark did not complete the journey. He left Paul and Barnabas to return to Jerusalem. The Bible does not say why Mark left, but it is likely the young Mark was discouraged at the challenges of the journey and decided to return to the comforts of home.
While Barnabas wanted to give Mark another chance, Paul believed their important work requires dedication, resolve, and endurance.

As members of the same body of Christ, we must encourage and build up each other's faith, so that we can help each other overcome trials and draw closer to God.

He pastored the new believers. He used positive & encouraging words to remind the believers to stand firm and keep their faith in the Lord (v23).
Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Barnabas sought Saul for help (v25–26). Together, they spent a whole year teaching the believers in the doctrine and the truth.
When a famine was prophesied, Barnabas and Saul were entrusted with the important task of transporting donations and relief to the believers. Barnabas understood the importance of unity and helping one another in difficult times.

Yes. Despite their differences, Mark and Paul later reconciled. Mark matured through the years and became a good helper to Paul during his imprisonment in Rome.

How do we become like Barnabas—a good person, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith?

To be a good person, we need to have love in our hearts.
To be filled with the Holy Spirit, put aside our own will and obey God's guidance.
To be filled with faith, we need to trust in God for all matters. We must devote time to cultivate it through prayer, studying the Bible and reflection.
