Before teak stumps/roots were sought after to make unique furniture and decor, teak harvesters would attempt to burn the stumps out of the ground with gasoline and other fuels. Teak is naturally a very oily wood and didn't burn well - it would often only burn where the fuel touched and no further into the wood. Few of these burned stumps remain, but ARTTT doesn't exclude burned pieces when selecting stumps to make furniture from.
