Do I have to redo all my trainings?
Because PPL will become your employer, there are some company and program trainings you’ll need to complete. You will still get direction from your consumer as a co-employer, and your consumer will inform you of your schedule, hours authorized, how to provide service, and other specific details regarding your caregiver responsibilities.
What are the benefits of CDPAP?
CDPAP gives you control over your home care. You can pick someone you trust to be your caregiver, such as a friend or family member, and pay them for their time.

Do I have to redo my heath assessment?
If you have already done your health assessment and it is not expired (health assessments are valid for one year), all we’ll need is documentation that you’ve completed it.
How do you check for fraud, waste, and abuse in your programs?
PPL has systems in place to track spending and usage carefully, helping to prevent fraud, waste, and abuse to ensure program resources are used correctly. We also have multiple quality checks to ensure compliance with the rules and intent of the program.
What if my FI stops working with CDPAP before my scheduled transition date?
For managed care members, your managed care plan will help you get support if your current fiscal intermediary stops operating before the transition. For fee-for-service members, your Local Department of Social Services can support you in maintaining CDPAP services and transitioning to PPL or one of our partners at the appropriate time.
What will I get paid with PPL?
We will be sharing pay rates and benefits options with personal assistants during the transition period. Competitive compensation and benefits will be offered.

What hours will you be open?
Our phone lines will be open Monday – Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern Time. Our local office hours will vary, but we will be able to share them soon.

When will PPL start paying me?
Payments from PPL will depend on when a consumer and personal assistant complete their registrations with PPL. All registrations must be completed by March 30, 2025. Once complete, PPL will inform you of your first service authorization and payroll dates with PPL.

How does PPL make sure people follow Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) requirements?
PPL provides EVV training to help people understand and follow EVV rules. This helps avoid errors in timekeeping and makes it easier for people to manage their services. We will monitor EVV activity to help people stay in compliance.
How can an out-of-state company manage CDPAP services?
PPL will operate the CDPAP contract out of New York. We are opening eight offices across the state and hiring more than 1,200 people in New York. Additionally, PPL will move our national company headquarters to the New York area in the coming months. PPL has been working with New York Programs since 2011, and many of our existing PPL team members live in New York and have experience serving New York programs.
