What is it?

- augmentative and alternative communication

- AAC means all of the ways that someone communicates besides talking. People of all ages can use AAC if they have trouble with speech or language skills. Augmentative means to add to someone’s speech. Alternative means to be used instead of speech. Some people use AAC throughout their life. Others may use AAC only for a short time, like when they have surgery and can’t talk.

People with autism are best suited for jobs that entail repetitive tasks.

Since autism is a spectrum disorder, there is no specific type of job that will be appropriate for all individuals with ASD. While many adults with ASD may enjoy repetitive tasks, it is incorrect to assume  a job is a good match solely based on a disability label.  Individuals with ASD have many diverse strengths, talents, and skills that would benefit employers.
