Austin Riesen conducted a similar study by raising infant monkeys in complete darkness until two years-old (Olson & Hergenhahn, 2009). Riesen found that when the monkeys were taken out of darkness the monkeys continued to act blind, but began to behave normally after a few weeks (Olson & Hergenhahn, 2009).
