Marijuana to the brain between ages 13 and 18

The teenage brain is still developing, especially the areas responsible for learning, memory, decision-making, attention, and impulse control. Marijuana (cannabis) can interfere with these processes.

  • 🧠 Memory and learning: Makes it harder to learn, remember information, and perform well in school.

  • 🎯 Attention and focus: Can reduce concentration and the ability to process information.

  • 😟 Mental health: May increase anxiety, panic, or paranoia.

  •  Decision-making: Can affect judgment, reaction time, and impulse control.

  •  Brain development: Frequent use during adolescence is associated with changes in brain function and poorer cognitive outcomes; the extent of lasting effects varies
