You should report it to your librarian, and you shouldn't try to repair it yourself.

0 or 1 most of the time- or occasionally 2 depending on activity

Name 2 things you can do to look at a book without removing it from the shelf or forgetting where it goes?
You can pull the book out just a little bit to look at it, then slide it back in, you can just look at the spine of the book without actually pulling it out, or you can mark the location with your shelf marker while you look at it.
