Why is asking for what I need important?

Sometimes, people don't ask for what they need because they don't want to be a "burden," or "inconvenience" someone else. But asking for what you need is important because it's key to making yourself feel included, supported, and not alone. You can ask for what you need by being assertive, expressing your feelings AND being respectful of the feelings of others.

Your feelings, thoughts and needs are NOT a burden.
