Yes. There are lots of sources of light. During the day, the main source of light is the sun, but at night we can use artificial light like flashlights or street lamps to create shadows in the dark.

Why do we have seasons? (what makes the seasons change?)

Because the Earth is on an axis - which causes it to point toward or away from the sun at certain points of it's orbit. This means that we get more sun at certain times of year, and less sun at others (more in the summer, less in the winter).
