Story
Point in which the conflict of the story is worked out
Resolution
Event in the story that sets the rest of the narrative in motion
Inciting incident or inciting moment
Imitates the characteristics, or archetypes of a particular author, work, or genre in a satirical way
Parody
Minor obstacles that make it harder for the protagonist to resolve the main conflict, trials, and tribulations that gap between the character and what he or she wants

The sequence of events as they relate to each other; plot concerns action

Paradox
A Universally recognizable character or scenario used to give the audience a reference point for interpreting a character or an event
Archetype
A character, whose personality, background, motives, and other features are clearly presented in the story, usually experiences grows or change in the course of the narrative
Round character
Action that builds towards the climax; principle conflict develops, and may be complicated by secondary complications
Rising action
A category, a narrative defined by form, content, or both. French term for a type, species, or class of composition.
Genre
The position, or vantage point, from which the events of a story seemed to be observed, and presented to us
Point of view
A time and space for the story to unfold, and often gives the audience perspective on the characters, plot and narrative
Setting
A character, who is uncomplicated, often predictable, and sometimes stereotypical. May serve a particular function in the plot, but rarely changes in the course of the narratives.
Flat character
The process by which a characters viewpoint changes between the beginning, and the end of the story
Character arc
A major problem, the protagonist, myself, or obstacle to protagonist my face throughout the story in order to get what he or she wants - the goal, the quest, the destination, the prize
Conflict
second story involving a secondary character, usually reinforces the theme
Subplot
An idea or ideas that the narrative intends to communicate, the aspect of the human condition, that the film explores, while the narrative may present a recognizable message films often provide visual cues regarding the theme as well

Events that move the story towards resolution, usually with the protagonist experiencing some sort of change
Falling action
The voice that the author uses to tell the story. Sometimes the narration is done by one of the characters in the story, and sometimes through a voice over narration.
Narrator
Important background information about the setting, action, and characters that happen, previous to the point where the story begins
Exposition
significant event within a plot that changes the direction of the action
Plot point
Event that turns the story toward resolution; often point in which the protagonist may begin to overcome or be overcome by the antagonist or conflict situation
Climax
