Setting
The main character in a story.
Protagonist
A struggle between two characters.
Character Vs Character
When the narrator is a character in the story using words like “I” or “me.”
First Person
The series of events that make up a story
The Plot
The character who opposes the main character.
The Antagonist
A struggle between a character and the environment or weather.
Character Vs Nature
When the narrator tells the story using “he” or “she” and knows only one character’s thoughts
Third Person, Limited
The most exciting part or turning point of a story.
Climax
The main message or lesson about life the author wants you to learn.
Theme
A character battling against laws, rules, or traditions
Character Vs Society
When the narrator knows the thoughts and feelings of all the characters.
Third Person, Omniscient
The struggle or problem faced by the main character.
Conflict
The feeling or atmosphere created in a story.
Mood
A character struggling to make a difficult decision or deal with guilt.
Character Vs Self
When the narrator only tells what can be seen or heard without any thoughts or feelings.
Third Person, Objective
The final part of the story where loose ends are tied up.
Resolution
The author’s attitude toward the subject or audience.
Tone
A character fighting against something beyond human control like fate or technology.
Character Vs Technology
The point of view used when the author speaks directly to the reader using “you.”
