Ignores information outside of a desired result. Finding statistics that support your argument.

I know I'm late to school, but I brought you breakfast.
What is Red Herring?
Because my alarm didn't go off this morning, I slept in. Sleeping in makes you late for school. Being late for school makes you miss a lesson. Missing a lesson makes you fail the test. Failing the test makes you fail school. failing school makes you never get a job.
What is Slippery Slope?
The arguer assumes that there are only two possible results which can occur.
The arguer infers that because one thing happened after another there's is some relationship between the two events.
What is Post Hoc/ Doubtful Cause?
A: Can I go to the party tonight?
B: No
A: So you want me to have a sad life with no fun and never see my friends?
What is Straw Man?
The arguer makes the assumption that the very question being argued has already been proven.
What is Begging the Question/ Circular reasoning?
This medicine works because it's effective.
What is Circular Reasoning?
This is a diversionary attic employed by the arguer. The person arguing a position attacks a view which is similar but not the same. "Dumb-ing it down"

I know I don't have the requirements for this job, but my dog is missing and my goldfish is drowning.
What is Appeal to Emotion?
The dog on T.V. is a great herding dog, therefore my dog is a great herding dog.
