"I am quiet and thus people often think that I don't like them" is an example of this.

What is a misconception?

20

The explanation for the way the Pharisees try to trap Jesus with His own words in Matthew 22:15-22.

What is the question "are we supposed to pay taxes to Caesar"?

Answering yes would have made Jesus a Roman sympathizer.

Answering no would have indicted Jesus of being a rebel.

20

The definition of Worldview.

What is "a mental map we use to navigate reality"?

20

This is the reference for the core verse for Worldview.

What is Romans 12:2?

20

Based on your core content, king Josiah destroyed and burned this many ideals in the temple. (not sure what Scripture reference that would be!)

What is 180?

40

The way the Pharisees saw only black or white issues and no other options is an example of this.

What is a false dichotomy?

40

Based on Matthew 22:37, this is how we should be involved in our relationship with Christ.

What is with heart, soul and mind?

40

The question Paul addresses in Romans 12. (see paragraph following the core verse).

What is the "What now question"?

40

Based on Romans 12:2, this is how we are transformed and this is the threefold purpose why.

What is "by the renewing of our mind" and what is "that good and acceptable and perfect will of God"?

40

The relationship between how we see the world and how the world sees us.

(Note:  This question does not necessarily relate to witnessing!)

What is having to be fundamentally different?

60

"The process of thinking according to reason" is the definition for this word.

What is logic?

60

The way the Sadducees attempt to entrap Jesus in Matthew 22:23-33?

What is the question about the resurrection, as far as who the woman who had belonged to a number of different men would ultimately belong to in the resurrection?

60

Based on your core concept, this is what worldviews address.

What is "the foundational, life-shaping  questions about reality"?

60

Josiah's age when he became king and his approximate age when he ordered temple repairs.

What is 8 years old (see 2 Kings 22:1) and what is 26 years (or 18 years into his reign, according to 2 Kings 22:3)?

Sidenote:  Interestingly enough, Josiah is called a king who did what was right in the sight of the Lord in verse 2 already, but waited 18 years before getting rid of idols and shrines and cleaning high places.  Just a side note.

60

How Josiah responded to hearing God's Word of the Law.

What is tearing his clothes and mourning because he realized just how far off he and his people had been?

80

The definition for "reductio ad absurdum".

What is "an argument that, when drawn to its logical conclusion, is ridiculous"?

80

Three examples of how we should no longer live, according to Ephesians 4:14-15.

What is that we should no longer

1. be children, tossed to an fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine

2.  being tricked by men

3.  fall for the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting?

80

This changed Josiah's worldview completely.

What is "hearing God's commands for the first time"?

(Core content, left column, bottom paragraph, first sentence).

80

How the Book of the Law was rediscovered and how it got to King Josiah, based on 2 Kings 22:8-10.

What is "Hilkiah the high priest finding the book of the Law during temple repairs, passing it on to the king's secretary who in turn read it to king Josiah"?

80

2 Kings 23:25 describes Josiah as having been an extraordinary king who TURNED to the Lord with all his heart, his soul and might and no other king like him arose after him.  Like Josiah, these things happen when we know (or get to know) the Law and the covenant (and God's Word) more deeply.  We are then able to do these two things.

What is "being able to know God more intimately and understanding the ultimate reality rests in Him alone"?

(Core Content, right column, third paragraph from the end.)

What

1. is real?

2.  is a human being?

3.  What happens at death?

4.  What is the basis for right and wrong?

100

3 examples of how Josiah purified his kingdom in 2 Kings 23:1-20.

  • King Josiah led by example and the people followed him.  Even in his covenant with the Lord.
  • He had all idols, shrines and sacrifices removed and destroyed to Baal, Asherah and the host of heaven.  He had them burned and carried the ashes to Bethel, including the false priests.
  • He defiled Topheth, the “god” people sacrificed children to.
  • He also removed the horses from the entrance to the temple.  Previous kings of Judah had dedicated these man-made horses to the sun-god.
  • He removed abominations to our Lord God, even the ones king Solomon had fallen prey to (once he took wives from various cultures and beliefs). …
100

Josiah did not just destroy the bad, he also knew to institute the good. These are the two examples from 2 Kings 23:21-25.

What is observing the Passover and Josiah removing all things disgraceful to God (Scripture reads 'putting away the mediums and the necromancers and the household gods and the idols and all the abominations that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, that he might establish the words of the law')?
