What is a MS1?

Each meal component is carefully built by combining individual items, portion sizes, and recipes into a complete offering. For standalone products like snacks or beverages, MS1 codes are used to create airline-specific identifiers.

What is a Spec Book

A spec book is created by the data management team for the chefs. Spec books contain the ingrediants for a meal as well as the instructions. Chefs request spec books so that they can easily know what goes into each dish and make edits if they please. A Spec Book contains every specification that is scheduled on that airline during the cycle. Spec Books often require printing lots of pages and many binders. Each Specification is numbered in the grid and then put into order and separated with tabs by an intern.
