Shaking hands rule in Moldova 

In Moldova most of the time only men shake hands with each other. Women do not shake hands with other women, and especially don’t shake hands with men. A man may greet a woman or, occasionally, kiss her hand. Don't shake hands over the door step.

"No" in Moldova while eating and serving alcohol.

Moldovans like to treat their guests with an abundance of food. Your host family may urge you to eat more than you can. Saying a “no” just once usually is not convincing. You will have to learn to refuse firmly and politely! You may even have to say 'no' a number of times!

You will have to work out a strategy for refusing politely in those cases when you do not want to or cannot drink alcohol. And again, you may have to say "no" in several ways at several times!
