Describe why artifact occurs.

What is electrical interference; too many electrical devices in the area, patient cable and lead wires are wrapped closely together; electrical cord is under the exam table, electrical outlet is improperly grounded, a cell phone in a patients pocket or a smart watch may also cause interference. Most commonly it is due to the electrodes not being in the proper spot or coming up from skin.
