How has Macbeth changed as a character?
In the beginning of the play, Macbeth was an honest loyal character who while ambitious, hesitated to commit evil deeds. In Act 3, Macbeth has started to become more consumed by his ambition and is becoming more ruthless because of the fact. Macbeth expresses his concerns about Banquo to Lady Macbeth and he is the one planning his death, not Lady Macbeth. This is the opposite of how apprehensive he was when deciding to kill the King and it seems that the power of being king has made him more ruthless.

How has Lady Macbeth's character changed?
In Act 3, Macbeth seems more remorseful and apprehensive about committing murder than before. She states that all their work was for nothing since they are unhappy. When Macbeth mentions the idea of Banquo's murder she tells him to leave it alone since they will not live forever and to let their deaths come naturally. She is not longer trying to manipulate Macbeth into commit immoral acts, but rather as the voice of reason to prevent them. This is a drastic change from the ruthless, cruel, Lady Macbeth from the previous acts.
