This former officer is responsible for hiding googly-eyed squids in the weekly presentations, which still remain to this day

This soupfin shark was long thought to be a spiny dogfish until our president and club advisor took a closer look a couple years ago

This officer has worked at multiple different zoos and aquariums
Who is Melanie Dewey?
It snowed during one of our outreaches at this place last year

This semester had the highest average meeting attendance of the past decade

This former officer was the Fundraising Coordinator in 2013-14 and is now one of our primary contacts for outreaches at OdySea Aquarium
Who is Jessica Tammen?
This rocky intertidal specimen was once called a "chocolate chip snail" by a child at one of our outreaches
What is a zebra striped murex snail?
This officer was an active member for two full years before becoming an officer

This professor served for a long time as the MACS advisor and Marine Discovery instructor until their recent retirement
Who is Dr. Katrina Mangin
This former MACS officer went on to become a marine biologist, climate activist, and founder and CEO of ocean conservation organization FutureSwell
Who is Carissa Cabrera?
This specimen in our intertidal station was previously mistakenly thought to be an anemone, but is actually a large polyp solitary coral
What is a Trachyphyllia coral?
This officer position was unfilled for a couple years until we elected someone for it due to the club growing
What is the Communications Coordinator?
This species (and genus) of hydroid found on the coast of the Sea of Cortez was discovered by MACS's former faculty advisor
