Our Nursing Care Model is family-centered and relationship-based, practiced within a Healthy Work Environment and a result of shared decision making. We tell each other stories of how we care for our patients, how we treat our peers, and how we care for and treat ourselves. We learn from our patients and our peers that the most effective care is not only professional (the Yin), but caring (the Yang), across all genders, race, and cultures.

Our Nursing Practice at TNMC is formalized by our Professional Practice Model and Jean Watson’s Relationship-Based Care Model. Our Nurse’s in PREOP/PACU are empowered to practice with the Authority to act with Autonomy to make care delivery decisions within their area of expertise and scope of practice, while following the TNMC Policies and Procedure Guidelines. In PreOp/PACU nurses understand, accept, and demonstrate an Accountability for the quality of that care -- for their patients, themselves, and their team (including multidisciplinary care providers), with an awareness of, dedication to, and Advocacy for Best Practice Care for all patients.
