What is the Truman Commission?
the various identities and experiences that may exist amongst students, faculty, and staff on a campus (gender, race, sexuality, age, socioeconomic status, etc.)
What is Diversity?
This is when a person uses their own beliefs, identity, and social relations rather than relying on external authorities. It is a necessary foundation for contemporary higher education learning outcomes.
What is Self-Authorship?
This is a person who is attending college whose parents or sometimes family members did not earn a degree.
What is a First Generation Student?
things that may stand in the way of a student being able to attend higher education, it can include things like financial concerns, personal concerns (family, children, etc), and not feeling prepared academically
