What is a Managed account? 

A managed account (or separately managed account) is a portfolio of individual securities, such as stocks or bonds, that is managed on your behalf by a professional asset management firm. Unlike with a mutual fund or exchange-traded fund, you directly own the individual securities. Each separately managed account is designed to follow a specific asset class or achieve a targeted investment objective.

What is an Advisor Services account? 

Schwab Alliance provides "World Class" service to clients who utilize the services of a third party Financial Advisor. Not Schwab advisors.

Yes. 

Our asset-based fees are blended on a tiered scale and decline with additional assets.

  • Fees for equity strategies start at 1.00%
  • Fees for balanced, Diversified Portfolios, and equity index strategies start at 0.95%
  • Fees for fixed income strategies start at 0.65%
  • Fees for municipal bond ladders start at 0.45%

You may be able to take advantage of lower pricing if you have multiple Managed Account Select accounts within your household, provided they are of the same asset class.

Client can have a Schwab Bank Investor Checking Account connected to a Schwab One account that is managed.

A client cannot have a managed account in an S3 (Investor Checking + Schwab One brokerage) account. If an S3 account is submitted, Managed Account Operations will convert the S3 account to an S1 and the client's Investor Checking account will be closed.

Can we close an AS account? 

If under "AS account Details" the "master account" is listed as Charles Schwab, then it is considered retail and we can close account in OZ. 

If agency is listed, Alliance has to close the account to first delink the agency.
