-Barbary states like Tripoli were holding people on merchant ships traveling through the Mediterranean for ransom up to $4,000. This led to the Barbary Pirate War because president Jefferson refused to pay the increased ransom demand and was tired of being at the mercy of Tripoli.

-In general, Native Americans were against westward expansion

-Despised Westward Expansion because often times they were forcibly kicked off their land

-The War of 1812 forced them onto reservations which put them under control of the U.S. government

-They felt displaced and therefore rebelled by siding with the British in War of 1812, Battle of Tippecanoe, Pontiacs Rebellion, just to name a few

-British agreed not to fund any Indian resistance to American expansion

-No Indian nation/Confederation was formed

-"victory" made America feel a sense of national pride and helped to create new symbols of national identity(Star Spangled Banner, 4th of July Celebration, etc.)

-End of Federalist party because of "treasonous" stance on the war(opposed it)

-Era of Good Feelings began with Monroe as president, America feeling good and trying to expand with domestic improvements 

-Treaty of Ghent- did not resolve the issue of impressment or trade blockade but created peace between Britain and France

-Canada felt a new sense of Canadian identity and still under British rule
