What is a product in math terms?
The product is the answer to a multiplication problem, ie., the product of 2 x 3 = 6
What is the quotient of a problem in math terms?
The quotient of a problem is the answer to a division problem, ie., the quotient of 10 divided by 2 = 5.
What is the sum of a problem in math terms?
The sum is the answer to an addition problem.
How do you generally find the difference?
Generally speaking, you find the difference by subtracting, ie., the difference between 3 feet and 4 feet is found by subtracting 3 from 4 and you get the difference, 1 foot.
Rounding and using compatible numbers are most helpful in checking the logic of answers or solving problems.
