Add all of the sides.

You multiply the length times the width. Or, if you can, you can count the square units.
Joan has a square picture frame. One side is 4 inches long. What is the length of the other sides?
All of the sides are 4 inches long because a square has 4 equal sides.

Remember! First, add the sides you know, and then subtract from the total.
