What is the constant of proportionality?
In a proportional relationship, it is the factor multiplied by x to get y, usually represented by variable k y=kx
What are adjacent complementary angles? Include a picture.
Two angles next to each other that sum to 90 degrees.
Draw an example of a histogram. What do they represent?
A histogram shows the data distribution/frequency with connected bars.

What does absolute value mean? How do you write the absolute value of -23 and it's answer with math notation.
The distance from zero. |-23|=23

How many centimeters are in a meter?
12 inches in a foot
100 centimeters in a meter
What is the equation of slope-intercept form? Label all the variables in the equation.
y=mx+b; y is the output or dependent variable; m is the slope; x is the input or independent variable; and b is the y-intercept or vertical intercept.
Show alternate interior angles that are 62 degrees. Mark your diagram with all the other interior angles and exterior angles. Label the transversal.

What is the mean? How do you calculate the mean?
Mean is the average of a data set. You add up all the numbers and divide by the number of numbers.
What is the difference between an expression, equation, and inequality? Explain and then write an example of each.
Expression can be a number, variable term, or operation of terms but no equal sign. 2x or 45 or 3-4x
Equation has two sides with expressions and/or operations that are equal to each other.
2x+8=4x-9
Inequality compares quantities with numbers, variable terms, and/operations. 2x<18
What is the volume of a rectangular prism with length of 12 cm, width of 10 cm, and height of 6 cm?
What is the surface area?
Volume 720 cm3
504 cm2
What does it mean to have infinitely many solutions to one equation? Give an example.
Every value of x will make the equation true.
3x - 8 = x - 8 + 2x
What is the sum of the interior angles of a triangle? a quadrilateral?
Triangle 180 degrees and quadrilateral 360 degrees.
What is the median? How do you calculate the median?
The median is a measure of central tendency. The data is organized from least to greatest and the middle number is the median. If two numbers, then take the mean of those two numbers.
What are five operations and their meanings we have studied?
Addition - putting quantities together; Subtraction - take away or comparing quantities; multiplying - repeated addition of equal groups; division - repeated subtraction of equal groups; exponentiation is repeated multiplication
What is the perimeter of a right isosceles triangle in feet and inches with side lengths of 15 inches, 12 inches, and 12 inches? Draw the image of the triangle
What is the area of the triangle in square feet?
Right triangle with 12, 12, and 15 as hypotenuse.
Perimeter is 3 feet and 3 inches.
Area is 72 in2 which is 1/2 square feet.
How do you graph the solution to an inequality?
Find the value for the inequality that makes it true. If it is = to also, then put a closed circle on the number. If not equal to, then open circle. If the solution is greater than shade to the right, if less than shade to the left.
Draw an equilateral triangle, an obtuse scalene triangle, isosceles triangle. Label angle and side length measurements.

What type of graph shows a positive linear association and what does it mean?
Scatterplots show positive linear association when the points follow a line going up from left to right.
Explain distributive property. Show how to distribute this equation -4(2x-8) = 1/2(4x + 2)
Distributive property is multiplying a term by each term in parentheses.
-8x + 32 = 2x + 1
Draw a trapezoid with measures for the parallel lines as 14 inches and 8 inches. What is the area?

Area is 1/2(b1 + b2)h = 88 in2
What is substitution in solving a system of equation? Provide an example
2x - 5 = y
x=6
You substitute a value in for a variable, so then you have an equation with one variable to solve.
What information is needed for a rotation? a translation? a reflection? dilation?
Rotation need object and center of dilation, degrees, and clockwise or counterclockwise.
Translation - need object going point to point or object translates by distance and direction.
Reflection need object and the line of reflection.
Dilation - need object, center of dilation, and the scale factor.
What does the mean absolute deviation tell us about a set of data? How do you compute the MAD?
The MAD measures the spread of the data. A greater MAD shows greater spread. Calculate the mean of the data. Then take the absolute value of the difference of each data point from the mean. Then average these differences.
Explain these terms - product, addends, difference, subtrahend, dividend, minuend, sum, divisor, factors, quotient
Factors are multiplied and the answer is the product.
Addends are added to get a sum.
Minuend - subtrahend = difference
dividend/divisor = quotient
The area of a rectangular picture that is 12 x 15 cm will be scaled by 3. What is the area of the original and the scaled copy?
