What is the difference between a client-specific boundary and a center (universal) boundary? Please provide an example.
A boundary refers to rules that must be upheld in the natural environment.
1. Universal Boundaries: These apply to all clients, such as "No, you cannot run in the street" or "No, you cannot explore the chemical cabinet."
2. Client-Specific Boundaries: These are unique to an individual client and could involve statements like "No, you cannot eat peanuts; you are allergic" or "No, you cannot watch an R-rated movie; you are five years old."
Each client’s Foundational Plan contains both universal and client-specific boundaries under the section titled "Establishing and Setting Boundaries Safely."
