NAY... you can't prompt students to take a break. We can, however, talk to students before the test about self-monitoring and recognizing signs that he/she might need a break.

Monitor the placement of student responses in the answer booklet. (Make sure students are filling in bubbles and writing responses in the correct section of their answer booklets.)

What is a placemarker and how does a student use it? (Test Accommodation #13)
An index card used to help the child keep track of their place in the test. The child can move the index card down while reading a passage to help them keep track of the line they are reading. It can also be used to cover multiple choice answers and come up with their own answer before looking at their choices; a strategy 8th grade students have learned.
